Tim Carter is proud to say that he's worked for nearly twenty years, five days a week, in the field with a tool belt on as a master plumber and master carpenter. He's built homes from the ground up, constructed major additions and renovations and most importantly, taken care of the home improvement jobs around his house under the watchful eye of his wife, Kathy.

"Ask the Builder" has grown since it started in 1993 as a way to help educate homeowners - whether they are working on their own projects or hiring someone else to do it for them. Tim now writes a newspaper column, hosts a weekly radio show and acts as Editor-at-Large for Extreme How-To magazine - and can also be seen as the host of a :90 second television segment each week.
